Different jobs

vidIQ's plans page centres on ideas, trends, subscriber insights and an AI coach, with credits for AI tools. Max adds up to 11 hours of short clipping. TubeBuddy's pricing page centres on title and tag optimization, bulk processing, thumbnail tools, Shorts linking and Topical Analysis, most of them on Legend. TubeBuddy Pro covers only the basic title, tag and thumbnail tools.

Licence fine print

TubeBuddy Pro and Legend are for individual creators only. Its pricing page says multiple channels, 50k+ subscribers, 3+ channel managers or 50+ employees may disqualify you. One licence covers one YouTube channel, and Legend includes 2 seats. TubeBuddy offers a 30-day refund. vidIQ's paid plans say "Cancel anytime."

Pricing caveat

Neither pricing page showed dollar amounts when we checked on 13 October 2026. vidIQ's prices come from vidIQ's own comparison page (US prices checked 7 August 2026). TubeBuddy's Legend figure comes from TubeBuddy's own blog. Check current pricing on TubeBuddy, including Pro, before paying.

How to choose

  • Do you know what to make next? If not, start with vidIQ free.
  • Do you have more than a few dozen old videos to update? TubeBuddy Legend's bulk tools save the most time.
  • Is click-through your problem? Check YouTube's built-in Test & compare first, then TubeBuddy Legend.
  • Over 50k subscribers or running several channels? TubeBuddy's creator licences may not apply; look at either tool's Enterprise plan.
