Short answer: not on free designs. Canva's free plan lets you download videos and images without a watermark. Watermarks only appear when you use Pro (premium) elements, like certain templates, photos or videos, on the free plan. Swap those for free elements, or upgrade to Canva Pro, and the watermark goes away.
Why a watermark shows up on your Canva design
Canva's library mixes free and Pro elements. If you add a Pro element to your design without a Pro subscription, it carries a watermark.
How to get rid of it
- Swap the element: replace each Pro element with a free one.
- Upgrade: Canva Pro costs US$144 a year for one person and includes premium content, so Pro elements download without a watermark. There's a 30-day free trial.
Is Canva good for Shorts, TikTok and Reels?
Yes, for simple edits and graphics. Canva exports video up to 1080p and can post to YouTube, TikTok and Instagram. For heavier video editing, compare Canva vs CapCut or Canva vs Adobe Express.
