How we check prices and free plans
Tools in this answer
Short answer: every price, free-plan limit and watermark claim on ShortStack.tools comes from the tool's own website, not from reviews or other directories. We save the page we read, quote the exact wording, and show the date we checked it.
Where the numbers come from
- The tool's own pricing page first. If a detail isn't there, we use the tool's own FAQ, help center or terms. We don't use third-party price lists.
- Dated. Each tool page shows when its prices were last checked and links to the page we used.
- Quoted. The "Is it free?" box quotes the tool's own words, for example the exact line that says a free plan adds a watermark.
How the "Is it free?" box is checked
- We save the visible text of the tool's pricing, FAQ or terms page.
- We note only what that page actually says: free plan or not, limits, watermark, commercial use, and any trial.
- A script checks every quote word for word against the saved page. If a quote isn't on the page, the fact is dropped and not shown.
A free trial is not a free plan. If a tool only offers a trial, we say so.
How often we recheck
Prices and free plans change often. We recheck listings regularly, and right away when a tool maker or a reader tells us something changed. If you set a price alert on a tool page, we email you when that tool's price or free plan changes.
When a tool tells us something changed
Tool makers sometimes write to us when a plan changes. We confirm it on their site where we can, then update the listing and every guide that mentions it.
How tools get listed and ranked
- Any tool that helps people plan, make, publish or earn from short-form video can be listed for free.
- Some links are affiliate links. That never changes what we write about a tool, its price, or where it appears in lists and comparisons. See our editorial & disclosure policy.
- Paid placements are always labeled as sponsored.
