Countries where the expanded YouTube Partner Program is available. TikTok says the program is open where it is available but its official country list could not be loaded on 2026-10-15, so check it in the TikTok app (Creator tools). Meta's Instagram monetization pages (Gifts, Subscriptions) did not show clear, current thresholds when checked, so they are left out. For ad revenue you need 1,000 subscribers plus 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days (or 4,000 long-form watch hours in 12 months), and you must accept the Shorts Monetization Module. With 500 subscribers, 3 public uploads in 90 days and 3 million Shorts views you can join the expanded YPP for memberships, Super Thanks and Shopping, but not ad revenue (YouTube Help, checked 2026-10-15).
Are YouTube Partner Program requirements changing in 2027?
Yes. From 1 February 2027, new creators need 1,000 subscribers plus 8,000 watch hours in 365 days or 20 million Shorts views in 90 days. Creators already in YPP keep their status, but must keep 10 million Shorts views over 90 days to earn from the Shorts Creator Pool that month. Fan funding thresholds stay the same.
What are the TikTok Creator Rewards Program requirements?
TikTok says you must be 18 or older, have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the last 30 days, and use a personal account in good standing where the program is available. It rewards original videos over a minute long (TikTok Newsroom).
Can I make money on Instagram or Facebook with few followers?
Meta does not publish one clear follower threshold. Facebook Content Monetization is invite-only (you can register interest in the Professional Dashboard). Facebook's Creator Fast Track offers $1,000 a month to creators with 100,000+ followers on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube. For Instagram, check Monetization status in your professional dashboard.
Do Shorts views count toward the 4,000 watch hours?
No. The watch-hours path counts long-form public watch hours. Shorts have their own path: Shorts views in the last 90 days. You only need to meet one of the two.
