What the licenses say about YouTube and TikTok

Artlist: Social and Pro both cover YouTube and TikTok. You add channels to a clearlist in your account. Channels not on the list can get claims, and Artlist says you will not be paid back for lost revenue. You may not register the music in YouTube's Content ID.

Musicbed: you link one YouTube channel from your account, and your subscriber count must be public. SyncID is its YouTube clearance system. It says SyncID only works on YouTube. The license terms also ban claiming revenue from the music on any social platform.

Which one for a Shorts creator?

  • Posting Shorts, TikToks and Reels: Artlist, since its limits are per platform.
  • One cinematic YouTube channel: Musicbed Individual.
  • Over 1M followers: Musicbed says you need Enterprise.
