What is the TikTok Creator Rewards Program?
In short: TikTok's program that pays eligible creators for original videos that are at least 1 minute long.
The Creator Rewards Program replaced the old TikTok Creator Fund. To join, you need to be 18 or older, have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, use a personal account in good standing, and live in a country where the program runs.
After you join, only original, public videos of at least 1 minute can earn. Shorter clips don't count, which is why many creators now post longer TikToks.
Example
Say you post three videos in one week: a 45-second clip, a 1 minute 20 second tutorial and a Stitch that runs 1 minute 10 seconds. Only the tutorial can earn. The clip is under 1 minute, and under TikTok's EEA terms Stitches don't earn. If the tutorial gets 50,000 qualified views, third-party estimates of $0.40 to $1.00 per 1,000 qualified views put it at about $20 to $50 (TikTok doesn't publish rates). A qualified view is one watched for five seconds or more.
Tips for creators
- Check your last 30 days of views, not your all-time total. The 100,000-view rule uses a rolling 30-day window, so a quiet month can leave you short.
- Use a personal account. TikTok's US and EEA terms rule out Business accounts, so the program won't open for them even with 10,000 followers.
- Don't buy followers or views. TikTok's US terms say followers and views must be authentic, and paid, incentivized or artificial numbers are excluded.
Common questions
What counts as a qualified view on TikTok?
Under TikTok's EEA terms, a qualified view is one where someone watches for five seconds or more. Repeat views from the same account count once, and your own views, artificial views and views from people who marked the video not interested don't count. A video needs at least 1,000 qualified views to earn.
Is the Creator Rewards Program the same as the Creator Fund?
No. The Creator Fund paid from a fixed pool and was replaced by the Creativity Program Beta, which TikTok moved out of beta as the Creator Rewards Program in March 2024. Figures of 2 to 4 cents per 1,000 views describe the old fund, not the current program.
